At The Promenade, bluestone defines the building’s edge.

Along Beaconsfield Parade, Bamstone bluestone forms the building’s curved street blades, bringing the natural character of Victorian stone to a precise architectural form. Cut intentionally to retain its split-face texture, each piece carries its own variation across the facade, while careful detailing allows the stone to follow the curve with a clean, continuous line.

It’s a considered balance between the nature of the material and the demands of the build. The stone remains tactile and irregular, while the coursing, cuts and joints work together to resolve the geometry.

Throughout the exterior, bluestone is paired with board-formed concrete, timber and anodised aluminium. Each material brings a different quality to the palette: the weight and texture of stone, the rawness of concrete, the warmth of timber and the precision of aluminium. Together, they create a material palette that feels grounded, enduring and connected to its coastal setting.

The Bamstone bluestone continues inside as floor tiling, carrying the material from the street facade into the home. Used in a different format and finish, it brings the same natural variation and permanence indoors.

A defining feature of the home is the stairwell, where a curated bluestone wall spans three levels, from ground floor to the top floor. Each stone tile has been carefully selected and placed to create a unique, natural pattern across the wall, allowing the variation within the stone to become part of the design. Viewed from the stairwell, the wall becomes a striking vertical feature that changes as you move through the home, revealing the natural character of the stone from different perspectives.
