1872 Project

- Robin Williams Architect
- A. Romanin & Sons Builders
The restoration of 1872 combines original bluestone masonry with newly sourced Victorian basalt, preserving the integrity of the heritage residence while accommodating contemporary living.
Traditional stone masonry techniques create varied textures, rough-cut faces and chiselled edges, balanced by contemporary applications including diamond-sawn façade tiles and paving.
Custom stonework features throughout the home, including a carved bluestone archway connecting the extended entrance hall.
The project highlights the versatility of Victorian bluestone and basalt across heritage restoration and contemporary architectural design, from exterior façades to interior spaces.
