Otago Bay House is anchored into the rock of a steeply sloping site over the Derwent River in Tasmania. Locally sourced materials such as Bamstone bluestone were selected for not only their aesthetics but also their endurance and suitability with the Australian climate.

“The sourcing of Victorian Bamstone bluestone sits well with our studio values to utilise local materials wherever possible and we love how versatile and robust it is with the Australian climate” – Amy Hallett, Director, Topology Architecture Studio.
