Following development of the Melbourne International Convention Centre on Southbank, the premium 5 star Crown Metropol is ideally placed to capitalise on the corresponding business, convention and leisure markets. It both complements and capstones the two existing Crown Hotel offerings. The design of Crown Metropol breaks free from conventional boutique hotel typologies to explore the contemporary definition of an urban retreat. Bamstone bluestone is a key feature upon entry of the hotel as guests immediately set foot on an intricate rhomboid paving pattern throughout the portes-cochère. The unique design demonstrates the unlimited design potential which can be achieved with Bamstone bluestone. Additionally, dimensional Bamstone bluestone paving and streetscape products have been installed in the neighbouring surrounds of the hotel, weaving through laneways to the Southbank precinct.
